Longneck Karen woman showing me how to make beetlenut.
The ingredients (tobacco, white silt, nut pieces) are rolled up in to a special leaf. While they chew it, their spit turns blood red and it rots their teeth. It's actually banned in Thailand by the King, but since the Longneck Karen are Burmese refugees they are permitted. |
